Whoops! It looks like a I completely spaced on posting last week’s Dear Dinosaur commentary—sorry y’all! Before we post tomorrow’s strip, head over to www.twoforonecomics.com and click the Dear Dinosaur tab, then run back here real quick to read this week’s commentary.
This week’s strip follows up on the finale of Volume IV, which saw Ryan being mysteriously sold to the Jawas by Otis. As Dear Dinosaur has been searching out meaning in his own life, he hasn’t given much thought to Ryan’s whereabouts. Thankfully he hadn’t been sold to anyone else, so he was available for purchase!
This strip is obviously referencing Star Wars with the appearance of the Jawas, as well as the crack about Ryan having a bad motivator (if you don’t get the joke, we can’t be friends). Other items for sale by the Jawas include a Dalek and Wall-E, both of whom would have been wiser investment than Ryan.
Ryan is wearing a t-shirt with a rough version of the logo for my upcoming webcomic, Left2Right, which debuts in May on www.twoforonecomics.com. It is going to be really awesome and I’ll be posting more about it on the website in the coming weeks. You may also notice that Ryan’s hair and beard are out of control, showing that some time has passed since he was sold (plus, up until last week when I trimmed 4.5” off beard off my face, this is how I looked).
Check back tomorrow for official commentary on this week’s Dear Dinosaur, which features the truth about Otis and his nefarious plan to take down Dear Dinosaur!
Finally, this week’s strip, along with many others is for sale! If you’d like to buy the original 11 x 17 art, it’s only $10 plus $3 shipping anywhere in the US. Shoot me an email at email@example.com if you are interested!
