DEAR DINOSAUR - A Star is Fired!

Greetings loyal followers!  I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas if you celebrate (and if you don't, I hope you had an exceptional Wednesday!).  Now that you are filled with turkey and/or ham, unwrapped all your gifts, and watched Matt Smith's final episode of Doctor Who, it is time for your favorite Thursday tradition--Dear Dinosaur!  First, head over to to check out the new strip, and then head back here for the official commentary!  We'll wait.

This week's strip finds Dear Dinosaur working with the ever popular guest star Robosaurus.  Robosaurus began as a fill-in host when Dear Dinosaur quit the strip in volume one and since then has risen the ranks in the entertainment industry, first hosting a talent competition on cable and then guest starring on TV shows--and now headlining his own movies!  In this week's strips, you'll note the special guest stars, who are supposed to be director Kevin Smith and his actors Betty White and Christopher Walken.  I did a poll on Facebook for the stars of the film and those two were the best answer.  Unfortuantely, Betty White is not easy to draw, but I am happy with how Walken turned out!  I also threw in a few other references to Kevin Smith's films, including Jay of Jay and Silent Bob in the background with Dear Dinosaur, who is wearing an RST Video tshirt (RST Video is where Randall worked in Clerks).

This week's soundtrack is "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen.  I wanted to go with something from New Jersey since that is where all of Smith's movies take place and what is more representative of the Garden State than the Boss?

Finally, this week’s strip, along with many others is for sale!  If you’d like to buy the original 11 x 17 art, it’s only $10 plus $3 shipping anywhere in the US.  Shoot me an email at if you are interested!
