Thursday has come again! You know what that means, don't ya? Aww yeah, Dear Dinosaur time! This week's Dear Dinosaur looks in on an alternate universe populated entirely by evil twins! As expected, insanity ensues. Can you imagine a Dear Dinosaur even more evil than the morally challenged advice-slinger we know and love? Well you better head to Two For One Comics to check it out, then come back here for the official commentary!
This week's strip features the "evil twin" versions of the main Dear Dinosaur characters--Dear Dinosaur, Ryan the Editor, and Krunch. The twist is that these are actually more idyllic versions of the characters. Evil Dear Dinosaur is caring and understanding. Ryan the Editor, who is in great shape, is his best friend. Krunch is now an optimistic pacifist--a far cry from the tempermental American Gladiator we are used to. The jokes are a tad obvious, but its still fun to play with these alternate versions. I even through in an alternate version of Word the Bird, who is perched upon Krunch's finger. I had enough fun working on these characters that I hope to revisit this universe in the future so we can see the "evil" versions of Robosaurus, Rodney, and Trips as well.
You may notice that Ryan is wearing an "Entertainment 7-Twenty" shirt, which is a reference to NBC's Parks and Recreation, one of the funniest shows on television.
This week's soundtrack song is "Friends Forever" by Zack Attack. You may remember this song from an episode of Saved by the Bell where Zack dreams of an alternate universe in which the Bayside gang all become famous musicians.
